Where's the Pugwash section on the new APE site? Did I miss something?
Andy Partridge
Mermaid Legs Amy, Pugwash have left APE for {I think} EMI,so are no longer contracted to us. I was going to put up an official news item, still might. Good luck to Pugwash.
MarmaladeArmy
Ah, thanks for that info Andy. I kept loading the page thinking I had lost my marbles.

Thomas, not quite the truth either my friend. Don't stir up already muddy water, quit while your ahead. There was nothing facetious in the good luck either.

I think I'm beginning to know how Ringo felt when John and Paul were going at it.
MarmaladeArmy
Gulp! Seems I have a knack for either closing down a thread, or starting a bad one. <Marmy backs away without looking anyone in the eye>

Move on, nothing to see here.

I think I'll just focus on the fact that the intersection of these two talents not only brought Pugwash to a deservedly larger audience, but also enriched that band's recordings as well as some of the final XTC music.

Thank you for all that!

Absolutely.

And, uh, I apologize (again) to both of you for those 'talented bastards' etc. quips on Idea way back when - I really was just kidding around.

Great,they've left the label,....NOW they're touring.

...BUT,it's a lovely album they've got out,THE OLYMPUS SOUND,so get thee to itunes and treat yourself. It's even got yours truly writing and singing on one track. But don't let that put you off.

Got my first cup of coffee, open Ape House and this gives me my morning chuckle. I will be smiling all day.

Got a cd ordered from 1969, so hopefully flapping its wings on its way over here as we speak.
Might have to get the bonus songs from iTunes alone. Drat...

I listened to The Olympus Sound today. Which track are you on Andy?

Anyone with the CD know more about who's playing what on it? Did I hear Mr. Moulding on one of them or am I imagining it? I suppose Gregsy must be on it somewhere too?
Retrocanary
OK, I had another listen today, and the voice on "Here We Go 'Round Again" that I thought might have belonged to Colin is in fact Andy (*awkward*). Andy, you're singing a bit lower than usual, no?

I really love this album. So far "To The Warmth Of You" is the favourite for me. Such lovely melody, was sure that would have been Andy's.
Mr Tein
and Mr Freeman gets a thank you on the sleeve
Andy Partridge
Yep.that's me on HERE WE GO ROUND AGAIN. Also wrote the lyrics to the mid section and some backing vocals, which was all sung in the shed.
I'd like a copy but sense I', going to have to buy one.

Just spotted this.

Come again?
Mr Tein
If you are in the Uk and you dont try and get to one of these gigs above you are crazy.

I had a briiliant time at the brook In southampton last night. Thomas dedicated a song to me and my wife Jennie ~(Its nice to be nice - and he was) - and then we sat until two in the morning back stage with the band and the bluetones drinking beer and playing darts. No doubt some pictures will appear on facebook.
Retrocanary
Why don't these gigs get put on their website? The gigs near me are sold out. Could have gone too!

The lead singer of the bluetones by a mile. I was distracted by free beer
MarmaladeArmy
Ironic and sad that we're talking more about them now here, now that they've left the label.
Mr Tein
thats the power of touring!
