Does anyone else have the Japanese version of The Secret Life with the three extra tracks - Here I Am, Baby's Song and Happy?
I have this version, and it's nice to have the extras, what with being a tangible-format-only curmudgeon who's having to make do with the physical releases. I think I rate the Boy from the Moon album above the collection, but since that's not always easy to track down, I'd still recommend The Secret Life as a starting point. |

I haven't got the japanese version of The Secret Life, but I have got Boy From The Moon. I would recommend getting this in addition to The Secret Life if only to see where AP sprinkled his magic. There are copies available on Amazon from about 6 quid. Dlgladwin, are there differences in the packaging between the Ape and Japanese Secret Life? Sorry, dlgladwin, if this is straying off topic so early, but does anyone have Round The Sun? (Apart from carwash casteneda). If so, any thoughts/ is it worth having/recommendations etc? |

Dlgladwin, are there differences in the packaging between the Ape and Japanese Secret Life? Probably a little - I don't have the APE version to compare! - but nothing lavish or extensive. I'm prepared to bet that it's just a paper insert with some Japanese text, and possibly Japanese translations of the lyrics. Sorry to be vague (you could search on eBay if you want a better description - some sellers are very thorough) but the extra tracks were the key feature for me at the time, and indeed since! Sorry, dlgladwin, if this is straying off topic so early, but does anyone have Round The Sun? (Apart from carwash casteneda). If so, any thoughts/ is it worth having/recommendations etc? Yes, I have it, but it's very much the poor cousin of Boy from the Moon. The songs aren't as rounded and accomplished, if you're coming from the APE end of things. Having said that, it's a decent enough album that definitely has its moments - just don't spend silly money on it. A copy will turn up for a sensible price, if you wait and keep looking. |

Thanks for that info, dlgladwin, I'll put Round The Sun on the back burner for now, at least until I get Dog Eared Moonlight!

Thanks for that info, dlgladwin, I'll put Round The Sun on the back burner for now, at least until I get Dog Eared Moonlight! you see there are reasons why artists shouldn't get involved in forums about their own tunes... send me your email address and i'll send you mp3's of 'round the sun' as there's some good uns' on there - also you can buy it on itunes but i don't get any money from it.. dontyou love this business we call music... grrrrr bestest carwash |
