I've hated that headline for ages,AND its incorrect. We actually did record some more things when Harold was last in the UK,but they haven't seen the light of day{not enough material for an album or EP}. We stay in contact by email and should he come to the UK again and we get time,we'll record more.
By the way,we never saw any money from the ALL SAINTS release version, which is why I nabbed it for an APE download.Harold and I will be paid for that one. Fighting fire with fire.

It wasnt meant to be a dig, more a plea for more! But I shall watch my headlines from now. To be frank my spelling in the message is much worse than the headline

It's a majestic piece of work, one of my most played APxtc things.Harold Budd just seems to be able to bounce of my favourite uk artists Andy,Robin Guthrie and Bill Nelson all have done work I really love with him but there's something really earthy or gutsy on through the hill that gets me everytime...achingly sad but wonderful for that.

on a lot of Harolds collabarations it sounds as if it's being painted in watercolours but this is defo oils!

Bronze coins showing genitals could be a bridge to orpheus(another fav) and always makes any xtcap compilation I make....

Lovely guitar and harmonies AP one of your great albums IMHO gold star!

I'd love to hear those extra tracks now you've waffed them over my ears...

How about an Ape broken biscuits tin? Where you put odd little things together ....sargasso bar, refridgeration blues,I overhead, cheap perfume Swindon town hall band rehearsals not colin demos!! etc all together and let us pick out the tin and pay per track ? No need for a big release thing just a bit dunk in the old tin

Good old AS could do a great apextcap biscuit tin!

The Andrews Misters could do a mean rendition of the "Biscuit Tin Shuffle"...
APey, you said in the Advertiser a while back that you might sell the unpolished bits on APE. A last cancelled stamp, a tattered postcard from Swindon to tuck into Fuzzy Warbles, but a big can of APE Biscuits (now fortified!) sounds much tastier.
Oh, did we get offtopic?

Yes, more Budd&Partridge, please.

In 2006, I took a solo trip to Death Valley for a running event and the only CD I had to have on the trip was Through the Hill. I remember frantically searching for the disc before hitting the road. After sleeping half the night at a hotel in Pahrump, NV, I set out for Death Valley before dawn. Listening to Through the Hill and watching the shadowy rock formations slowly emerge was otherworldly (and, I admit, also a bit eerie, like I was on the Planet of the Apes or something). It's the perfect music for desert moonscapes.

It has also been my soundtrack for numerous trips through Joshua Tree NP and only just recently I read that Harold Budd grew up in the Mojave!

AND he's funny, too?! Hm, what's his number?

Not bad. How about...
A man goes to the Doctors with a pea in each ear and 2 carrots up his nose.
The doctor looks at him and says "you're not eating properly are you?"

Q: How many psychologists does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: Just one, but the light bulb has to WANT to change.

Dug the "Through the hill" album out, in between blasting out my recently discovered listening pleasure of "Caravan" - Land of Pink and Grey and Waterloo lillie.

I must have played the album to death over years, as its a bit buggered. Looking around for a good vinyl copy. So if anyone knows of anyone who would like to sell me a copy let me know.
