Radcliffe and Maconie will be joined by a Mr A Partridge of Swindon next Monday to discuss (I'm sure amongst other things) the Dukes reissues. 6 April 8.00 - 10.00pm Radio 2. Fab! Also available for a week afterwards on the groovy "listen again" feature.

The same Mr Maconie just announced at the end of his 'Freakzone' on 6music that he hopes next week to be joined by 'Jasper Johns' aka Andy Partridge.

Looks like AP is hitting the promo treadmill again.

Oh! I forgot about this, being in America it is not hard. These shows are usually archived for a week right? Or do you guys sometimes record them? Oh right, I see now, I will have wait to hear it then. Cheers I believe.

So, how was the show? What was said and played? For some strange reason I can´t listen to the stuff on BBC. So if anyone can make a download of the interview with Andy it would be superb.

(un)Usual Andy wagness. Oh, and XTC is no more, in case anyone was in any doubt.

Thanks Huggie. But when I try to listen via that link my computer gets damp or something. Can you make an MP3 of the interview? Maybe in 32 k/bits so it´s not too big? Only if you have the time...

I'd muchly like to Mr P but as I'm not very clever I'd request that someone more boffinsome than I give this task a crack - sorry. Hug.

I finally got it working last night, but I had to download real player first (ugh I don't like real player). I didn't get the impression that XTC were done so much as Andy wasn't interested, or to busy, to make new music. I mean, Andy and Colin are just now starting to repair there working relationship (friendship?), so I'm not expecting anything about XTC for awhile.

Anyway, yeah, it was pretty typical Andy fare really. He made some great comments, I wish he would have had more air time though. I was hoping for some more indepth information, or maybe an airing of Black Jewelled Serpent Of Sound, but was not disappointed because it was just a small bit of promo work. It was cool though, and I'm glad to hear what Andy has to say any old time.

If you can find someone to rip it for you the interview starts a little bit after an hour and five minutes into the show and last about twenty five-thirty minutes. I'm not tech savy enough to help either, sorry Per.

Thanks chaps! The problem is that I have Real Player but it doesn´t work anyway. My Apple just refuse to cooperate. I must do something wrong but I don´t know what. Eh, that last sentence could I easily use to describe my whole life! Attached File  apelaughing20x20jv0.jpg ( 801bytes ) Number of downloads: 0

...for those who can't access the BBC iPlayer, here's an MP3 of the Andy Partridge Dukes interview he did on Radio 2 for your delectation! I couldn't be bothered editing out all the tunes selected but they're good 'uns! so you'll have to digest it all in its entirety here...

enjoy!

The music of Nick Nicely, whose 'Hilly Fields' and '49 Cigars' were highly praised by Andy in this week's interview can be explored further at www.myspace.com/nicknicely - the release of 'Hilly Fields' further fuelled AP's already strong desire to make a psychedelic record - thank fuck he did, huh?
