Terrible Songs By Horrible Artists Whom You Personally Can't Stand, ...because they are vile and loathsome and can't sing, either.

What a perfect thread for Nickelback. Some people at work LOVE them, which is the only reason I know of their vomit inducing music.

That terrible New Radicals one hit wonder thing always irkes me. Horrible, self-conscious faux-rebellion (yeah!) insincere punk-lite counting-in, lots of attitude but just really grating and horrible. Not actually as horrible as something that's easy to hate and ridiculous like REO Speedwagon which is just stupid lame joke-poodle rock and as such is rather to be pitied rather than hated, or even poor old inelegant Rick Astley with his big old voice and shambling demeanour - it's the pretence of quality that is tiresome. It's so vile I can't bring myself to think of the name (one-two-three-four! Yeaah! Yelps of abandon!). This ain't rock'n'roll - this is genocide! Actually it's not even that interesting. Just awful empty rubbish.

'You Only Get What You Give' - Yeah, I liked it!

I know what you mean about the contrived rock 'n' roll '1-2-3-4-argh' hystrionics, but I like the record.

The worst offender in that 'contrived' category is that Human League record that starts with Phil Oakey saying "OK, ready - let's do it!" - utterly contrived!

I actually read a review of that particular HL record, saying that Oakey's allegedly verite statement here sent shivers down his spine, which only goes to prove the banal stupidity of most music 'journalists'!

West End Girls by the Pet Shop Boys... And that's the best song in their entire so-called repertoire.

YES! yes it is

While Spastic has vouched for the early Black Eyed peas, the solo work of Fergie, I have heard by being in the wrong place at the wrong time, was extremely vile. I hope to avoid ever hearing the "Humps" song, so far so good.

I really tried but I had to bail at 42 seconds. Totally Toxic. If I got that thing stuck in my head, I would need some electroshock or something.

Anything by Morrisey. Anything. It doesn't matter how good the song may be - there is something about that man that just makes me hate him. I can't explain it.

...well Heaven Knows i'm Miserable Now, Spider, hearing you say that but i Ask you not to Panic; Well I Wonder if trying to pretend that you really do like Morrissey would be a Miserable Lie & would get me Nowhere Fast but Frankly, Mr Shankly i'll have to admit when I Know It's Over & when I Started Something I Couldn't Finish.
I know i Paint A Vulgar Picture & These Things Take Time but as you are such a Handsome Devil who i know likes to Oscillate Wildly i'll just have to Stretch Out And Wait.

Have to go now (incidentally How Soon Is Now?) as i have a Girlfriend In A Coma to attend to...

Morrisey's style is one that causes people to either love him or revile him. I'm not a big fan of his solo stuff, but I really liked The Smiths.

Anything with Pet Shop Boys. Totally boring.

And yes, Morrisey is unlistenable as well...

Dare I say, oh yes, I dare:

"Born to Run" by the tuneless Bruce Stinkstein. The worst of all his miserable attempts at singing.

Anything Stevie Nicks bleats out in alleged songs. Bah, feh, poohey! I'd spit if I knew how to spell it like it sounds. Ptoo. There.
