Just a place for reviews and other presswordings about the re-issues. Here is a very positive one from Pitchfork:

Thanks SF for posting those reviews. Well written stuff but the reviewer have misunderstood Colins demos. At least three of them...

No problem. I left comments on both of his reviews mentioning what songs Colin wrote, but oh well. You know the media these days, they have to rush report everything and not two minutes to check songwriting credits...

If I find anymore I'll bring them this way.

Here are a couple of mentions of the Dukes, not exactly reviews but still press. Of course... I find it odd that one thinks XTC was at the height of their popularity with Mummer/Big Express.

I had to laugh at the statement that Youre my drug is influenced by the Byrds 8 Miles High, I can only say that the reviewer has never heard at least one of the songs in question.

I could see some comparison with the Byrds Learjet Song but even then because of the sound effects <sigh>

From the user name you can guess I'm a bit of a Byrds fan.

Yup, me too. Surely 'You're my Drug' is more of a 'So You Want to be a Rock'n'Roll Star' soundalike?

Long and very good interview with Andy:

http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune.com/en...selling-th.html

(But the interviewer thinks that "Easter Theatre" is called "Easter Theater". Very serious mistake!) Attached File  apelaughing20x20jv0.jpg ( 801bytes ) Number of downloads: 0

Imagine my great surprise to be flipping through the entertainment section of the Calgary Herald today and finding this particular interview plus a great Dukes photo taking up half a page! Hopefully a few folks here at the fort will check out the Ape website!
