Veda crosses many genres in her songwriting, what do you think?

Very seldom have an album swept me away like "Kildeer". Still does. One of my desert island discs. Probably the best album released this decade. Yes, it is so good! Do you know I have this album - in fact its my only one of hers and I just cant get it. I listen to lots of music and like it or hate it or whatever but I just cantt connect with this positivly or negativly. But why? |

It's not at all as immediate or approachable as This Riot Life.
My initial response is that it comes across as a postmodern collection of snippets (rather than songs) out of which one is free to construct whatever one will. Per assures me that it requires many hearings, and what I have heard so far inclines me to the view that he may be right. |

I just downloaded it, and I'm pretty taken with it -- I get songs stuck in my head, get obsessed with them, so I've barely gotten past "Queen of the May."
