Yesterday (at the cherry festival)

1) Took a tractor tour around Brogdale Farm

2) Attended a talk on beekeeping.

3) Wandered around the stalls sampling unusual local food and produce, bought some cobnut fudge and some black olive mustard, had tea and a slice of coffee walnut cake in the cafe

4) Watched a gun dog demonstration (and had my heart won by a lovely, bouncy springer spaniel called Danno)

5) Went on a guided walking tour of the farm and ate loads of cherries picked from the trees (there are soooo many varieties)

It was a really good day.

What's the rest of the limerick?

There once was a guy called Spidey
So down to earth but moody
But with all the love that he got
He lost the plot
And thought he was Richard not Judy.

1. Made some peach muffins.
2. Watched the U.S. women's World Cup match versus Brazil (great match!).
3. Did some laundry.
4. Watched Portland play Seattle in MLS soccer (another great match - five goals, all in the second half!).
5. Walked up the hill with my dogs.

If you substitute 'shore' for 'beach' in that last one, you've got yourself a tongue-twister right there.

1. Woke up and washed my hair, made coffee, made breakfast, packed the children's lunches and wished I had time to read the newspaper.

2. Went to my office and did many work-related tasks, but also spent some time looking at my personal finances while on the company clock.

3. Plunged headfirst into a state of despair after the review of my current financial situation. If my despair was visually represented by a pie chart, it would consist of equal parts worry, self-reproach and resignation.

4. Took a short break around 4:00 and went to the soothing environment of the campus library. Sanctuary! But I only stayed there about 20 minutes.

5. Worked listlessly for a couple more hours, then tried but failed to resist the lure of one of those delicious $3.00 margaritas from Felipes on S. Miro St.. And when I walked in, the bartender fixed my drink and had it ready by the time I made my way up to the somewhat crowded bar. I love that guy!

1. Woke up at 5.50 on the Edinburgh-London "Sleeper"
2. Ate a "hot" "breakfast" brought to me by a steward who was not impressed by my Thor T-shirt night attire
3. In the office at 6.55 after 2 weeks away to prepare for a 9.00 client presentation
4. Discovered all the numbers are wrong and spent a panicky hour and a half fixing them
5. Sitting here pretending to work and slowly sneaking my stuff downstairs so I can get to my hotel without anyone noticing I'm leaving early (last to go will be my Mac which I'll make out I'm taking down to the meeting room)...for a snooze before a boat tour of Regent's Canal.

I've been on that train - albeit in the opposite direction. Loved the Sleeper car (unlike my companion who couldn't get to sleep on the train.)
Woke up to discover BritRail had become ScottRail, and all the money had changed.

1) Woke up early to take out the trash after falling asleep to reruns of "Breaking Bad."
2) Saw a possum next to the house. He wouldn't run off despite me yelling at him. Sprayed him with the water hose, and he just casually moseyed off, like nothing was happening. Didn't even snarl at me. Nasty animals.
3) Decided to water grass on side of house since I already had the hose out.
4) Had cereal, orange juice & coffee for breakfast.
5) Perusing on line before about to (finally!) export 2 songs from ProTools into GarageBand for simpleton01.

Like Truzzi, I've also done that trip in the other direction. A friend and I went up on the sleeper so that we could make the morning train that runs (or ran then - back in the 80s) from Inverness to the Kyle of Localsh. It's a fantastically beautiful journey, and I recommend it. There is (or was then) bugger all in Kyle once you arrive (a ferry trip to Skye - but there's nothing there either), but the getting there is wonderful.

1-Tweeted my relife at not having a hangover
2-Cunningly made my dad decide not to make me filter his pond while he's on holidy for 2 weeks by going 'bloody hell' when he told me he was going to show me how to do it.
3-Listened to Joni Mitchell's THOSL several times to see if I like it not...for the millionth time!
4-Remebered another book to add to my Database of books I've read-Of Mice and men
5-Dug out this pic of me and some other trainspotters at Kyle of Lochalsh circa 1985 (IMG:http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab278/Pieinthesky437/th_BashingPicKyleOfLochalsh.jpg)

And you haven't decided yet? (You and a lot of other people.) Simpleton01 turned me onto that artist and album way back in the day.
Oh, Simp: those tracks ARE coming, just a few revisions & additions. They'll leave here Monday.

Thanks for posting that. I see that there's snow on the ground. When we got there a heavy downfall had taken out the electricity, so we couldn't stay at the hotel we'd booked. We had to go back to Inverness (after walking around the little supermarket with a candle that they gave us, trying to find something to eat).

I'm right about that train journey though, am I not?

That's the problem with instant messaging: it's harder to find convincing excuses for why they haven't replied yet.

Fingers crossed though. There's still hope.
