1 Woke up and thought it was a work day
2 Soon cottoned on..........nice 3 But realised I still had to get up because I had things to do 4 Shouted at my kids for arguing 5 Explained to my kids that I didn't mean what I just said. 6 This thread is as ridiculous and self centred as twitter. 1) Started to break out in hives just after midnight.
2) Slathered on some Polysporin® Itch Relief. Kinda helped. 3) Attempted to sleep. "Napped, woke up, scratched, slathered, napped" x2 is more like it. 4) Woke up about an hour ago. Went to the bathroom for a shower and nearly did a double-take when I saw that it wasn't just my extremities and torso affected. Got a lovely case of facial edema as well. Thankfully it's not as itchy. Left eyelid is halfway swollen shut, which feels weird. 5) Sitting here both amused and aggravated by it all at the same time. |

Oh rockpants, poor you. I hope it all dies down soon. Try not to scratch (I know, stupidest advice ever).

1) Started to break out in hives just after midnight. That first happened to me in college, and has occurred with decreasing regularity ever since (it's been quite a few years now.) Any creme I used just made them move elsewhere. It was never determined if it was due to a skin irritation, or a virus, or if it was psychological, or what. (I didn't THINK so...which means diddly.) The way I dealt with it was using the same cure I use for an erection: don't think about it for a few hours and it goes away. But I'm sure that's not particularly helpful in your case, RP. 1) Called in hivey to work.
2) Scary Clinic Doctor writes me a a script for betamethazone, tells me to take Benadryl pills TID until the hives start to clear up. 3) Go get script and Bennie at the store. Pharmacist really keen on telling me to apply the betamethazone SPARINGLY. He must've said it about 5 times. 4) Got home, popped some Bennie down the hatchet and waited until the inevitable drowsiness knocked me out for several hours. 5) Cursing the keyboard on my new Lappy (Macbook). Much of the next 2 days will see much of #4 & #5 repeated. Don't know how you managed the ignore it & it will go away technique, Jeff. I tried that initially to no avail. These fuckers did not want to be ignored! |

1-Threw a stick for the dog and then regretted it as he pulled up on his bad hind legs. He's had 2 op's. He seemed arlight in the eve though
2-Went to bus stop determined to sell my ipod touch and thickphone and get a thickMp3 player and a smartphone 3-Came back from bus stop after realising if I sold my ipod touch I wouldn't be able to listen to spotify 4-Downloaded a loada stuff on to spotify offline playlist in the coffee shop only to find when I got on the bus it has crashed...again. 5-Treated myself to a smartphone a HTC Wildfire that cost £98 for a 2nd hand model. I was going to buy the same model twice for £140 before I found the one I bought so I'm bloody glad I shopped around a bit more! |

1. Woke up at the seaside near North Berwick in Scotland and left the beach hut without waking anyone
2. Drove to the railway station and parked in the car park because last time I parked on the street and had my nearside mirror kicked off (£204) 3. Ordered the Full Cooked Breakfast on the train and managed to empty the entire plate onto my cream trousers 4. Scraped it off and covered my crotch in paper towels in an (unsuccessful) attempt to eradicate the sausage-and-bacon shapes forming there 5. Bought a pair of "stretch denim" trousers (£19.50) at M&S by Edgware Road tube. Fab! |

Today I have to treat this like a confessional. Oh, dear me.
1) Managed to free myself from the grips of hive-itude. Highly relieving. Natsy experience all-round. 2) Realized that I needed 3 full days off to recover and that the doc's note doesn't cover the "return to work" portion required by my employer, even though the docs don't do this. Just says "advised to take 3 days off work". They fill in the blanks in a form note that all the clinic docs use. My employer wants a return to work date specified if 3 or more days are taken off for illness - my guess is that they're not capable of counting to 3? Perhaps I should get them the The Book of Armaments and point them to chapter 2, verses 9 to 21. 3) Found a pen like the one the doctor used, practised tracing and such for a while, and then forged a return date. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) 4) Feeling regret ... but unless they want to jump through hoops to verify it with the doc I saw at the walk-in, they won't be able to prove it. Just hope they won't go over it with a fine-toothed comb. I kinda screwed up a bit (date #'s too big) and tried to make the rest of it look similar. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) 5) Convincing myself the doc really did write it after I pestered him to, so if questioned ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) Eh? I know it's totally unethical and isn't like me at all, but the fist of idiotic corporate bureaucracy kinda made feel backed into a corner. Now, to wash my slightly inky-smudged hands of the evidence. |
