Okay, this is cheating a bit, because this is a transcription of the version from "Skylarking" - but this song IS on the Warbles.
Lokrume04 pointed me in the right direction on the verses (a D7 shape descending chromatically on the three low strings with the high ones ringing open)
and I spent forever trying to figure out what those chords would be called.
It's not totally accurate (particularly those chords at the end which are also featured before the augmented chords descending by whole tones in the bridge)
but it should be pretty darn close.
(Comments and suggestions to improve the accuracy would be appreciated.)

This is great thread, too bad it's no more active. I've been trying to figure out Young Cleopatra, but I'll be honest I'm only a decent player and XTC is complicated! Anyway, sounds like a bit of C, G and F in it but not sure. Hopefully this thread won't fade away and more tabs will pop up! Anyone else like The Stinking Rich Song by the way? Brilliant tune, maybe I'll try to figure that one out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Anyone interested in learning other XTC and AP songs
can find many more transcriptions (by myself and many talented others)
on Chalkhills, HERE:

http://chalkhills.org/reelbyreal/i_song.html

Particularly check out those by Ian Dahlberg, which put mine to shame.
Ian also has an "English Settlement" Omnibook, which is a complete notated transcription (tablature AND notation)
of EVERY instrumental and vocal part from the ENTIRE album!
Google Ian (who played in an LA XTC cover band) and check it out!

I've been learning guitar for about a year. I can play about 10 songs. Have attempted XTC several times, all too difficult :-(

They can be hard to play.
They're even harder to try figuring out!

There are a number of bands whose songs you should learn before attempting to tackle XTC songs: all of 'em.

You mean "1000 Umbrellas"? Absolutely. It took awhile. And it's still not completely accurate or correct - but it's close.
