I don't play guitar, so I can't really comment, but how do you compare guitar players like that? I mean, how do you posit, for example, that Stevie Ray Vaughn should be #37, while Jeff Beck should be #19? Why isn't Jeff Beck #14 instead of #19? That's stupid.
[Note: Stevie Ray Vaughn probably wasn't #37, and Jeff Beck probably wasn't #19. I didn't memorize the list, so get off my back, Jack.] Also, how do you leave Dave Gregory or Steve Howe off the list entirely? Wait, they were left off the list, right? I didn't really read it that carefully. I did see Andy Summers on there, however, as well as Robert Fripp and Frank Zappa. So all you Summers, Fripp and Zappa fans can calm down and relax. Also, why 100 guitarists? Why not the Top 37? I realize that's a different thread entirely. Would somebody else start that thread, please? I'm feeling a little hostility here. |

Oh fuck, now I've done it. I put this thread in the wrong section. This section isn't for stupid shit, and I thought this was the stupid shit section. I apologize. Go ahead and delete it, that's fine. Shit!

I didn't know the Rolling Stones have had more than a hundred guitarists. If it's the top hundred then they must have had about a thousand or so, I guess. I'll vote for Bill Wyman. He must be in the top twenty at least.
How many tambourine players have they had? Fifty-ish, perhaps ??? Dunno. |

All I know from a Pink Floyd forum and a R.E.M forum is David Gilmour wasn't in the toop 10...13 or s/thing adn Peter Buck was #94. Gilmour should have been 2 after Hendrix and Peter Buck #3. Paul mccArtney should have been in there 2 'cause the 2 guitar solo's he did on Taxman and GMGM were both better than any George ever came up with. I'm guessin' harrison was on there somewhere...about 25 which is what he was last time RS did something like this.

I don't play guitar…. THAT is the understatement of the millennium. ...get off my back, Jack. Jack hasn't been around here in ages. Let's not start up again, PLEASE! I did see Andy Summers on there, however, as well as Robert Fripp and Frank Zappa. So all you Summers, Fripp and Zappa fans can calm down and relax. Whew! (Sits down.) Also, why 100 guitarists? Why do birds fall out of the sky Every time you walk by…. |

before reading the thread I put my list together Keith Richards Mick Taylor Ronnie Wood then i thought i cant think of 100 Rolling Stones guitarists? Let me help. As well as correcting the above, here's a couple more: Mick Jagger (sure he's not very good but he does play guitar - I've seen pictures.) Brian Jones (probably my favorite of the bunch.) Okay - NEXT! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |
