from the other thread

can you please tell us the story behind "My Dream Sea".

Well- My Dream Sea- I love it- I think its my favourite of all the tracks on the three Ape House Eps- it started wth me and Andy messing around with samples and loops- Andy improvised some vocals and some bass- then I arranged into some sense of order-and added some more strings and assorted strangeness-but it was still very random. So hot on the heels of the unbridled success of Up on Hi- I sent it to Jen- who sent back all those vocals-mermaids and monks –kinda made sense of it- Andy added the seasick mellotron-then I carried on- added the comedy section after the monks and re arranged and fiddled with it for months. It was very easy to do though- Andy and Jen’s voices blend together perfectly.

. How musically mad on a scale from 1 to 10 is Barry Andrews? And is it possible to buy one of his masks?

Ahh- Mr Andrews- hahahh- well we met on the set of Monstrance and I co-produced Shriekback’s Glory Bumps with him – so I ve got to know his musical leanings quite well over the past few years- and yes- totally mad –11 on the scale- comes at it in his own unique way- he made a fanastic video for this track- we filmed it in my studio and the neighbours were looking out their window at two strange baldheaded men wandering up and down the garden all day –one leading the other by the hand (who was dressed in an assortment of strange masks ) before dissapearing into a darkened room at the end of the garden – God knows what they thought was going on- and I have no idea where the masks are-

Is there any chance you could post the credits of who collaborated on this?

Thanks☺

Thanks Stu! You´re the man.

You know, I think you are as mad as Barry. Ha, ha. In this crazy world it sure is necessary...

Thanks for the credits Stu - while I think all the participants in Lighterthief are great, I just wanted to give a special shout out to Sam Bates - what a great voice!

And it was that curiousity which prompted my question, Saturnboy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
