Been wanting to see Lianne for the last 6 months, ( (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) )but she has not ventured down to the south coast. Are you going to the London residency?

No, couldn't get tickets in time :-(. Going to a gig at the Scala in King's Cross and the one in Brighton.

In Dec. made the 4 hour drive to Detroit to see Morrissey - my wife's favourite - as he's too much of idiot to play in Canada anymore because we allow our first nation population to kill seals. Doesn't mind playing in the States where the government sanctions murdering criminals though.

We don't eat our "kills"
Morrissey wants to protect "innocent" animals not evil humans.

Then wouldn't it be better, to play in Canada, raise funds with the proceedes to publicize and further his cause?

What about animals that kill and eat their "kills", does that make them evil like humans too? Wouldn't it be worse to kill and waste that and not eat it... I know much too heavy a topic.... I only started it to explain why I had to drive 4 hours each way on a cold december sunday night.. not really wanting to start an ethical debate on it at all.

I love the man's music, but sometimes I think he does things just to be contrary and contriversial. Likely that trait is a big part of his music too.

And I'm gonna see Peter Gabriel on October 8! With the same line-up I last saw him with, in 1986.

I haven't been to a concert in eons...unlike Mr Tein. No lighters, just cell phones, right? And do they still smoke weed at these things?

The Words demise was, i read, because record companies arent spending enough on ads to keep the magazine going... still a bit less free music in the market.

Recent giggage- went to the Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, my first festival outside the UK-

I went and gone and saw...

the Cure (over 3 hours of hits- one of the best gigs I've ever been to!)
Mazzy Star (lovely laid back druggy toons)
The Pop Group (totally backing up Mr Tein's problem with long in the tooth bands- like watching an uncle at a wedding, shame!)
The XX (dreary, samey pretentious nonsense)
The Wedding Present (playing Sea monsters- brilliant!)
Franz Ferdinand (harmless fun)

...and last night I saw Half Man Half Biscuit at the Komedia in Bath- brilliant gig, sharp as a knife tween song banter, played 'Joy Division Oven Gloves' & 'National Shite Day' which left me beaming!
