Andy and I saw Veda in Cardiff, where did you see her? I saw her in Berlin in April last year. A small club and a very charming atmosphere that Veda made even more charming. She is a wonderful performer. Funny and serious at the same time. She asked me if I had any requests and of course I had, so she played "Tuktoyaktuk Hymn" and "Where Am I From?" specially for me. Oh, and she also throw in my name several times in a song! Hopefully I will see her live again. Maybe in Vancouver with her big band? |

I saw Veda years and years (and years and years) ago in Vancouver at the East Cultural Centre off Commercial Drive. Very intimate and a great musical evening.
Per if you ever get out to Vancouver you better stop off in Calgary too! |

She sent me a nice email, which I know isn't a live gig, but I was as pleased as hell.

Alright! Any good fishing in your neighbourhood? Oh YES! What's your pleasure my friend? Alberta is well known for its fishing opportunities, enjoyed by residents and sportsmen around the world. There are 63 species of fish in the province, but only 18 of these species are preferred for food or angling- including pike, walleye, bull trout, sturgeon and arctic grayling. Eight hundred lakes have naturally occurring fish populations and 300 or so are stocked with fish by the Alberta government. From the clear-water lakes of the north, through the streams and lakes of the mountains, to the rivers and lakes of the parkland and prairie, Alberta is blessed with a wide variety of fishing opportunities. Where I am it's mostly flyfishing on the Bow River*. *Of course, because we have severe winter here except for July 21-27, all fishing is really cutting a hole in the ice and droppin yer line in. |

Okay, then it got to be July then. I have a chat with Veda and ask her to play July 20, so we can go fishing the day after. I think this will work out very fine!
