Having read the threads on your favourite volumes, and those warbles that didn't hit the spot, I was wondering if anybody had created their own FW playlist. A couple of years back I created an iMix of what I considered the best of the bunch - I ended up with a 40-track compilation! For some reason, the mix was diminished by one song when published on iTunes, but by the time I noticed I'd forgotten which track was missing! So, here is my 39-track selection of "Fuzziest Warbles" (as my iMix was ingeniously titled)...

Young Marrieds In My Hand Born Out Of Your Mouth Visit To The Doctor Ship Trapped In The Ice My Land Is Burning 2 Rainbeau Melt The Art Song Candymine Lightheaded I Gave My Suitcase Away Wonder Annual Cherry In Your Tree Prince Of Orange All I Dream Of Is A Friend Rocket Through Electric Gardens Goodbye Humanosaurus Difficult Age It's Snowing Angels I Can't Tell What Truth Is Anymore Bumpercars This Is The End Put It On Again End Of The Pier ...you'll notice a gap at the half-way point. After I had completed it I noticed that at that exact point was the perfect spot to split the playlist and burn a 2-disc set for the missus to play in the car! Somewhat fortuitous, but at the same time not wholly unexpected, as I spent ages getting the running order just right! My list of 20: through electric gardens - bumpercars - sonic boom - obscene procession - ship trapped on the ice - i don't want to be here (aids benefit) - wonder annual - summers cauldron - motorcycle landscape - my land is burning - dame fortune - born out of your mouth - i defy you gravity - goosey goosey - lightheaded - end of the pier - ridgeway path - 2 rainbeau melt - prince of orange - this is the end.

Just yesterday I was scanning through the Warbles for a "theoretical" best of type compilation and being quite ruthless (and leaving aside 'XTC' tracks) my final list, in no particular order was...
Dame Fortune Wonder Annual Rocket Born Out Of Your Mouth I Don't Want To Be Here Young Marrieds This Is The End Bumpercars My Land is Burning Prince of Orange End of the Pier Through Electric Gardens I Gave My Suitcase Away Shalloween Even now this looks hideously ill thought out. |

I've never actually thought about a FW compilation. But mine would have to start with The Laugh Track.

Tell you what I would like to see ...
A "best of" FW collection on vinyl only (as all the downloads are already available) - I haven't got round to working out a track list for it yet though. I would release some of the family funds for that one! |
